Project Overview
Survivor is a reality television show on CBS where a group of castaways competes for one million dollars by using their wit, athleticism, and survival skills to withstand 39 days of outdoor living.
At the outset of the quarantine, I began rewatching the series with my family. We found the tropical scenery and competitive nature of the show a welcome break from reality; therefore, Survivor was naturally my first choice of theme when I received my school assignment to create a fictional currency.
My challenge was to create an authentic-looking currency system that stayed true to the adventurous themes of Survivor. My goal was to design a currency appropriate for the "Survivor Auction," where contestants have $500 to bid on food items in increments of $20. My resulting design consists of six denominations featuring cast members. Distinguishing each banknote is a unique color palette and photographic elements, making the currency system user-friendly.
