Project Impact: A Platform for Impact Evaluation
2024 | 7 months | Research Associate | Global Arts + Humanities
Context
A collaborative digital platform for the Global Art + Humanities (GAH) at the Ohio State University (OSU), designed to help interdisciplinary research teams define, document, and communicate project impact using qualitative and humanities-informed metrics alongside traditional evaluation measures.
When I joined the project, a prior designer had developed a low-fidelity website prototype. My role focused on evaluating the prototype with intended users through a stakeholder focus group and translating insights into continued development and refinement of the prototype to a high-fidelity state in preparation for handoff to OSU’s Instructional Research and IT Support Services (IRIS) for minimum viable product (MVP) development.
Approach
Stakeholder focus groups; affinity diagramming; insight synthesis and design iteration; UI design; prototyping; system mapping
Outcomes
Research insights identifying user needs, pain points, and workflow expectations; a high-fidelity prototype of the platform’s MVP; and a set of system maps documenting platform architecture to support developer handoff and continued development. The website remains under development. Check for updates here.
Collaborators
Puja Batra-Wells (GAH Associate Director); Breanne LeJeune (GAH Marketing and Communications Strategy Specialist); Karin Samoviski (IRIS UX/UI Designer); Dustin Perzanowski (IRIS Senior Software Developer)
